This afternoon, the Black Student Union (BSU) protested fliers for tonight's Hilltoppers concert in the Roost, slated for 9 p.m.
The fliers were posted Sunday night, but all were removed within an hour of the first complaint, according to Junior Hilltopper Jack Pearson.
Tonight's show will go on, he said.
The Hilltoppers, Denison's men's a cappella group, allegedly posted fliers picturing two nooses and the phrase "come hang with us," intended for a Halloween theme.
Gatherings of students at the flagpole were not planned this afternoon. Several BSU members stood with a noose around their necks, including junior Darrin Collins and sophomore Joseph Butler.
President Dale T. Knobel made an appearance and emphasized the need for continued dialogue and action, as well as BSU President Romero Huffstead.
Check back for more details.

Are you kidding me? White and Black and every other kind of person has been "hanged by the neck until dead" for centuries. Why is this all of the sudden a racial issue? I know for a fact that some of my ancestors have been hanged and we are all white. (Continued…)

Joi - while I respect your viewpoint & also can't argue with David's points, I must point out to you a troubling trend among blacks in our increasingly politically correct culture. (Continued…)
